I actually kept the Shortstop on my 08 Airborne82nds. I did replace the rubber insert and add a MeanV in the lower mount.

It is extremely quiet, and very shock free with this arrangement. I think anybody that has added a lower mount MeanV to their Airbornes will give a good review on what it does. It's just Quieter! Also several have taken the Shortstop off the 08's because of interference with the sight picture or kisser location, but for me leaving it on and making the modifications noted was the ticket.

I have both the factory one and a MeanV on my 82nd. As quiet as it was, it did tame it a little more. Well worth the $.
