I hate climbers..too tree specific...I spent more time hunting for a tree than hunting deer when I had a climber. senario..."wow gr8 spot to hunt...O..no straight limbless tree right here. Dang..I will go sit in that tree 30 yds away cause it will work for my climber..but not where I SHOULD be. Oh well, the climber worked and the hunting sux..but at least I have my climber!!"
I couldn't agree more. That's why I also have a LW Assault hang-on.
LoL, Do you use anything that isn't LoneWolf?
Well speaking for early and myself...What's the point...perfection is there ...until someone can make a better stand and sticks..LW gets my nod. Simply the best, hands down. Show me better and I will buy it.
I guess that subject is handled.

LoL some of you guys are just down right lazy.
lost me there.
You'd be very surprised at what kind of trees you can use for a climber. Not to mention how much a pocket saw comes in handy.
I know..I owned a Summit Viper for one season...used it alot and had a saw at all times...that is how I can make an educated comment that you quoted me on ...

on my 2000 acre farm we have over 85 hang on setups, but, it seems like the deer "know" when someone is sitting in one of them...... also from year to year, deer use different areas and since we dont want to make it a huge hassle with hang ons, we dont hunt there, which had we had a climber, we could have. That is why im asking for the LW hand climber for christmas

I don't buy it! Something's not right. Are you hunting these stands with the correct wind for the stand? These deer aren't psychic you know.

around 85% of the time i hunt the wind..........after someone gets caught in one of the stands, the deer like remember that spot, i sware its true!!!!

There has to be a reason why they're getting "caught". Movement, noise, and odor are the only reasons a deer will bust you. Sometimes a "strange object" will get their attention, but if none of the above are present they will usually go about their business as usual.

ICALL2MUCH, I love using a climber and have now found one that is in my opinion is better than the rest. My first climber was the Summit Viper Classic, the steel model, which was heavy as heck. Then I upgraded to the new viper which is aluminum, but still bulky and heavy. I eventually found myself getting lazy and leaving it out overnight or not wanting to go way back in there. My dad's buddies all had Lone Wolfs and were twice my age but still walking circles around me.
This season I purchased the Lone Wolf sit and climb and my buddy bought the hand climber. We can not say anything bad about these stands. It is like there is nothing on my back at all when carrying it in. The platform is rock solid, super quiet and it packs pretty small. I found one minor thing about this climber and that is that I cannot fall asleep in it like my summit lol, but that is probably a good thing anyways. Hope this helps bro

I LOVE my climber. Love it. But, I despise carrying it in.

I cannot wait until I make enough money where I can put up 12 hang-ons and sticks!

People that use climbers, do you feel this way? Is it just me?
I'll tell you, that both ways are nice, but I really like my climber a little better, becauseI feel it's a little more stealthy. I hunt some places where if you leave something it's GONE, therefore a climber is a mandate if you don't want to be forking out money hand over fist. Early this year, I did hunt with a set of climbing sticks and a lock-on, but that was more out of necessity because I had recently had surgery. I like the set-up, but it's not as easily portable as my climber. Both have their good points thought, the climber to me is just a more stealthy set-up.

I prefer a lock on, just because it is already set up and ready to go, but if needs be I have no qualms using my Lone Wolf climber.

All i've ever known is a climber for the most part. A few occasions I have a hang on set up for a couple days but that's it.
