RE: Shooting through brush...
How do you feel about shooting through brush, small limbs, briars and so on ? |
RE: Shooting through brush...
Not me, if there is a gap big enough, Ill take the shot...but, I wouldnt take a shot knowing it would likely hit brush, that is just bad news waiting to be printed.

RE: Shooting through brush...
Not going to do it. I will admit in my youth I thought i could squeeze it through, never worked out!!
I wont even take the chance, Ill just wait for the animal to clear. |
RE: Shooting through brush...
Isn't the bottom line ......whether or not you're willing to take a chance on injuring the animal or not......regardless of your head choice? Aren't both head types going to be deflected/affected if they make contact?
Its really then.....an ethics question on whether or not you'd chance it. I say it depends on the opening. I've taken a shot through an "opening". I've turned down SEVERAL that didn't have one. |
RE: Shooting through brush...
DT, that is themain reason I let this decent (for my area)8pt walk. He came in with a 6pt at 10yrds! There was a real small bush that was RIGHT next to him. I drewand waited for him to take two more steps that would have putthe front of him totally in the open. That didn't happen. He simply turned around and followed the route the 6pt took, and walked right in front of my cam.
There is NO DOUBT I could have sent my Muzzy through that little bush and still sent it through that bucks vitals. The bush wasright against his body. In other words, there was no space between them to make the arrow deviate from it's course. I just wanted the "ethical" shot which cost me not shooting that buck. ![]() |
