In my area (and alot of) VA....its over 2mos if you count the 2 week early M/L season
In WV... 4 weeksplus, depending on if you get the "extra doe hunts" so can be almost 5 weeks

Indiana has 16 day firearm season (shotgun/pistol/muzzleloader) and a 16 day muzzleloader only season which follows a week after the firearms season.
Personally I'd like to see both seasons cut back to 9 days each (Sat thru the following Sunday)

7 shotgun
3 muzzleloader
2 extra shotgun this year on top of that

That NJ season is insane. I thought MI 2 week season was long!!

just shy of 2 months, right through the rut. Oct 10-Dec 1 ...Idaho's DNR up here in the North is all about how much $ they can bring in. They care nothing about managing for quality whitetails or elk for that matter. With the boom in population up here and the very liberal gun seasons, I see our quality of deer and elk hunting only to decline year in and year out. We even have SPIKE only seasons on bulls in units where the cows out number the bulls 30 or 40 to 1 ... its a complete joke.

This year Texas is Nov 1st until Jan 4th. There are some counties in south Tx that get a few extra weeks as well. I think they get an additional 2 weeks.
Next year the Dept of Parks and Wildlife is looking to make October,(which is archery season),a complete month of special youth gun season. So, if that happens, we will have over 3 months of gun season. [:@]

Let's see in MO there was a 2 day youth hunt, then 11 days of rifle season, then 7 days of ML, then doe only kicks in on Sat for another 7 days, then the yutes get another shot at the does for 2 days in Jan.
Total = 29 days

Wis: First of all it I should consult my lawyer. Thats almost what you need to understand the laws here
.
In a nutshell:
oct antlerless only 4 day season
Nov 9 day rifle season
followed by a 10 day ML season
then another 4 day antlerless only season
Unless your in CWD zone. Which is a lot of the southern part of the state. Don't ask me what the seasons are there. It's basically an all out slaughter. They don't call it an eradication zone for nothing!

I think the bigger question is not how long the firearms seasons are, but WHEN. Having a firearm season during the peak of the rut is not a good idea in MI. At least southern MI. High deer numbers and the majority of the harvest every year is antlered bucks. It will never change though because it's tradition.

Kansas rifle season is 10 days. It usually catches the second phase of the rut. There is also a early muzzle loader season that I think also last about 10 days. They allowed scopes on the Muzzle loader this year so it is basically 2 riffle seasons now as a scoped muzzle loader can be shot out to 200 yds. I liked it better when it was open sights only.
