RE: How long is the gun season in your State ?
I just checked my NJ regs book, and I see what you mean. Reg set #8 has 63 days of "permit muzzleloader" and 44days of "permit shotgun" in addition to the regular 6day firearms season. Those zones must have high densities of deer to have such liberal seasons and bag limits. Up in the northern part of NJ, in zone 3 ,close to where I live in NY ,the "permit shotgun" season is only 1 day and "permit muzzleloader" is 22 days. I think its also important to note that most if not all, of those gun seasons are well after the rut.
Personally I dont see whats wrong w/ the state focusing on managing deer population densities as oppose antler size. It seems to me, that the state's obligation should be reducing deer/vehicle collisions and overbrowsing, before it worries about the size of its buck's antlers, which it already does w/ imposed ARs in less populated zones.

Simple question. I'm just looking to compare.
How many firearms hunting days are there in your State ?
NJ is ridiculous. 65 Days

--I haven't yet seen a hunting club member driving deer out of the public land onto their property, but I've heard that it happens....and when it does...
