Default Late does and saltine crackers

So, to use a HNI cliche....another thread "got me thinking."

Lets say you shoot a late doe.... I'm talking real late.... like March late (we have an urban season.... its legal). I don't think I could do it personally... I don't really even want to think about it.... but curiosity has gotten the better of me... so here it goes.... .are late term fetal deer edible? Let's hear it.... I seriously don't think I could even handle the thought.

Like you, I couldn't do it.

But who knows whether it is edible or not...Im betting it is...not much around that isn't edible when cooked up to kill germs and bacteria.

I guess it all depends on how hungry you are

The veal of all veal!

The thought of it is gross, but I'd try it at least once.

I've shot one doe second season (January), that's as late as I can hunt them in PA. Like was mentioned in another thread, if your area needed them thinned, there's no bad time (in season) to shoot a doe.

i dont know that i could do it myself....

i know our late season (like Rob said, mid January is the latest) doe fetuses are almost always so small you would have to LOOK for them to find one...were talking smaller than your hand...finger size...TINY.

i havent cut one open and seen it first hand...but have been "shown" what was found by others....not that i wanted to see....its part of life and part of the reason we take does...early or late...
