I give up family and "wife time" but other than that it is part of life!

I remember these sweet little girls I dated from 19 - 23 years old...High maintenance low maintenance...I had it all....As soon as they started chirping about how long I was gone on the weekend...why I wanted to take an animal?....it was a down hill spiral that left me single and in the woods doing what I've loved all my life........I let alot of them go for hunting....andalot kicked me to the curb as well....

The listgoes on...I've given up a ton over the years...to be in the woods with nature...

It has never affected my wife...I'm married with kids now...I am making more time for them...they are my life....and I still have a ton of time on stand...

Hunting has also caused me ZERO SLEEP because I'm on here with you kind fellows...late every night...

Might sound funny but hunting is not taking more than 6 months of my time if you don't count the internet hunting sites. I actually try to spend as little time in my hunting woods as possible until hunting season comes around. Why? Simply because I try to keep human contact with the deer as minimal as possible.
This is the way I feel exactly. I started this just last year, up until last year, I spent way too much time in my woods, and I felt like I was chasing everythng out. So last year, I started staying away until a couple of weeks before my season started, and then I went in one day, and checked all of my stands, and trimmed some shooting lanes.

There are but two seasons in my world...spring turkey and bowseason...! Spring turkey starts with the first scouting trips near the end of March and goes throught the closing of May. Deer season usually begins for me around the end of June when the antler growth starts kicking into high gear and runs through the middle of December when the late archery/muzzleloader season season closes.

Still 141 days until the 2009 turkey opener here in NY...[].

The Mossy Oak slogan says it the best, "It's not a passion. It's an OBSESSION!"
