weather precautions for bow
I was wondering what steps you take to keep your bow protected when hunting bad weather? Is there anything you can do to basically water proof your bow? I do general care and think I do a good job but I want some tricks of the trade.

Keep stings/cables waxed..oil the moving parts and screw heads and wipe it down good when you're done...this is what i do and my bow looks as new as it did when i got it yesterday...

Besides all the wax and lube to keep screw heads from rusting, when I get back with a wet bow I wipe it off and then shoot it a couple shots. Shakes all the water out of wheels, axles and pockets. I have gone as far as to use a can of air to blow out under all the E clips and stuff and wipe down again. Wax is most important.

screw heads and allen heads are the only thing i have ever had trouble with rusting. If im hunting when rain is in the forcast, ill putcoat vasoline with a q-tip on my sight screws quiver screws and on my rest screws, its oder less and does the trick. I do like David and dry everything off good after a hunt.

Keep the string and cables waxed.
Teflon coat or replace all carbon steel screws with stainless.
Rinse the saltwater off when I get in if it's been in the skiff.
Keep the ice knocked off it while hunting.

I dont worry about it. The bow itself as well as the cams are rust/weather proof already. The strings/cables when waxed are fine.
The eclips, and screws that hold down sights, rest, etc can either be replaced with stainless (did this with my bowfishing bow 100% ss), or can simply be replaced each year, the thread count and bolt size can be easily found, if not, I have them written down for those interested.
When I get in from a rainy hunt, I shake off the bow, and lay it down to dry. I pick it up again when I head out for the following hunt/target session.
