You have got be kidding right? You hunt top quality properties every time you hit the woods. It sucks about the camera and all, but in reality, you have it better than almost everyone that visits this board. Count your blessings instead of coming across with this woe is me crap. Jeez...

Can you expect much more than that for the areas you are hunting? I know for my area, my expectations are much higher...maybe too high i guess But nobody understands when you shoot an 80" deer why you "caved" and didn't "hold out". They dont realize that's one of (if not THE) the best bucks you've seen all year. I'm just busting your chops.....as I KNOW each person's expectations are different. I'd get whiplash hunting where you do.....for a while;). Here's to your season being all you want it to be from here on out. Trust me;).....the entire season can change in a few mere seconds. Mine did, yesterday. |

30 sits in November alone. August for heat, NE andthen MO after thanksgiving for cold. Not like he isnt putting the time in guys. He KNOWS he hunts awesome farms, and isnt complaining about that. It's that he only has one shooter spotted from stand for the entire season.
Its not like he is whining how there arent any gooddeer in his area, he is just venting about how he hasnt been able to get on them. Kind of frustrated with himself. |

ORIGINAL: MichaelHunsucker I'm sure the last thing you guys want to hear is me complain, but this has been the worst season that Shawn and I have ever had in Missouri. With the properties we hunt and as much time as we put in scouting, videoing, hanging stands, and hunting we have no excuse not to have AT LEAST one buck on the ground. We didn't see our first shooter from the stand untill just last week and he wasn't even close to bow range. We have hunted over 30 sits just in November and have nothing to show for it. In the passed two years shawn and I have killed a total of 8 bucks in MO...it's just unbelievable to me that we cannot manage to get just ONE on the ground this year. Anyway...since our luck was so terrible and since we had been seeing a ton of does on our farm, we decided to go out and do some herd reduction. Wouldnt you know it after having a shot opportunity at a doe nearly every sit in November, we didn't have a single doe even close! Tonight, to top it all off we headed in to one of our better spots to check our trail camera and get in the tree and guess what! Our trail cam had been stolen! What a sack punch just to top it all off. I'm ready for fall of 2009.. [&o] |

Thats what happen to me i was there about everyday of oct. i was in there 8 out of 10 of the first gun season days. I had a doe in range in the middle of oct. And a 11 point a week and half ago dam dogs ran him off. I saw more deer last year on one hunt then i did all this year

I understand, some may not, but when your succesful and put your time in one has certain expectations for themselves. It's a let down when oneis not meeting a goal. The goal may be to kill a deer orto kill a booner. |
