In a few places, I've been lucky enough to be able to watch the deer fleeing from the orange army. After a few years, I noticed an undeniable pattern. I now just sit where I saw them running most. This year it paid off in a major way. I arrowed 2 bucks from the same stand in one morning. Almost got another doe but wasn't prepared because I was still busy freaking out after I shot one of the bucks.

Think escape route!

I would go with the rifle and save the bow for the late season.......if you need it.
