Congratulations-this is the hog I just took near Lufkin Tx. with Ray Modisett(936-422-3602) & his hounds. I am headed out for my 7th Bowhunt (6 have been stand & blind Bowhunts) to finish a video on hog Bowhunting I started last Sept. covering Texas, Illinois & Oklahoma. This is my best so far.
Good Luck & congratulations again. hope the pic loads.

Well I went hog hunting at the lease. Morning hunt was a bust, evening hunt was different.
I showed up later than desired and settled into my ladderstand. As I was trying to give myself on last spraydown with scent killer, the bottle dropped to the deck of the stand. This made a loud noise that caused something in the brush behind me to bust through some limbs on it' s way out of there. I turned and cought a glimps of a large black pig. He circled my 100 yard circular opening and showed me his HUGE family jewels before turning and heading towards my stand, grunting like the King- Of- the- Woods the whole way. He circled my stand at at one point was 35 yards away. Then he holed up in some brush downwind of me trying to catch a wiff of what made the noise. I guess he did, because he waddled off at a fast trot, letting out a rough squeal as he went.
I was kind of glad he didn' t offer a shot as he would easily had gone 200# and had scary scare shilds on each side of his shoulders. He looked like a drugged up bull dog with most of his weight sitting forewards in head and shoulders. I didn' t fancy tracking him at night alone. I don' t fancy tracking any pig at night alone for that matter!!

Just got back from my 7th hog hunt to finish the video. Shilo Ranch in Oklahoma is great-I saw hogs from my stand every sitting-Passed a 100+ pounder at under 20 yards. If you want to stand Bowhunt over a feeder, this is the place-some biggies runnin his ground too.
Hyawatha-if the Gonzales is Perdenal Bowhunts I was the the 24-25th & 26th. Missed two javies (excellent shots too) & shot a nice eating hog. Jerry is a excellent host as are the Matt & Cheryl of Shilo.
Good luck in your qwest.
I have logged 12,000 miles since last Sept. Bowhunting Hogs & Javalina for this Hog Bowhunting video-Boy, do i wish gas was cheaper.
