Well this saturday, November 15th, is opening day of gun season in Michigan. I have been training most of the year with my bow for hunting this season, since it's my first year hunting I really want to take a buck with my bow but I am not sure if its a good idea to use my bow opening weekend of gun season instead of my 12 guage. Was hoping to hear what you guys thought about this? Thanks

If it were my first year hunting i would take the gun, get a deer and start building confidence,However if shooting one with a bow is what you really want and your sure your going to be okay with letting a big buck walk because he is out of range take your bow

In WI bow is closed during the gun hunt.
To answer your question, it depends what you've done to "train" yourself. You stated that this is your first year hunting? as in first year ever, regardless of weapon? If that's the case then I wouldn't just pick up a bow and put myself up against the guns. First of all, you must know where to hit a deer with a bow depending on angle and shot scenario. It's different than a gun. Secondly, with the warzone that's gonna be going on, you will likely not get a shot at a relaxed animal as you otherwise would if there were no guns going off every 30 seconds.
