Is there a difference between the axis fmj and a "regular fmj?

I don't want to order the wrong thing....if I get them. I'm also a bit worried about them accepting the inserts I want. The inserts say they fit "axis"....and don't mention fmj.

Who would know? I suppose I could call LAS.

Have you guys seen the price tag on those FMJ's?

Do you get flowers after they nail ya with that price?

OK....edit...

I think Cabela's has them for $114.99/doz. Does this sound right for shafts, only? I'd fletch them, here....and I have vanes.

Does anyone know if they accept inserts?
They use hidden insert technology. I have them on my target bow.

I know carbon is more durable....but heck I'm either losing my arrows when the deer run off with them, now.....or the deer are breaking them inside.

So heck....if you're gonna have a disposable arrow....might as well shoot a cheaper one, huh?

Any downside to aluminum I don't know of? I could probably find these and get them set up, tomorrow.....(check that....gotta order inserts).

If you are going with FMJs, MeanV offers a great price...

Id also call Dave at Double Lung, I ordered mine through him, got the camo versions fordangthe same as what the standard ones cost everywhere else, Dave is a great guy to talk to as well.

Both would be substantially lower than a retail gig IMO, could be wrong.

FMJs work fine, id go with atleast .340 for your expected heavy BH though.

If I were you and was going with a complete new setup, Id call Dave at Double Lung tomorrow, tell him the arrows you want, the inserts you want, and the BHs, you want....he can fix ya up, he did for me anyway.

Oh, BTW Jeff, They DO make weighted brass HIT inserts for axis arrows as well, Muzzy makes a 100 grn brass HIT insert, they arent cheap though at $10 for 6 through Cabelas. So all is not lost for your weighted inserts if thats the way you go.

id either go this route or weight tubes on current setup, both would give desired effects...the new setup would offer alot more FOC though.

Me thinks with the new setup, they wont be running off with your expensive arrows anymore.Granted you do your part on shot placement.

Trev...

I was gonna ask if the 340 was the heavier spined version (over the 400 or the 500). Thanks.

I will call Dave if I go this route.

but since you said something about the weight tubes.....do they even make one for the a/c/c's? I admit to not knowing much about them.

Switch to rages on your FMJs and youll never have a problem you get a lung shot and they are dwon for the count. As ive said on here before to many others..I have never lost a deer everyone ive shot ive found. And never had one kick an arrow..especially when i hit them with my rages or muzzy's.

carbon express terminator hunter selects are 12 grains/inch, and very consistant with longer arrow lengths. I think I have one or two that I can send if you want to see if they spine out right.
