Sitting on stand longer than usual in the morning or getting out earlier than usual in the afternoon? What would you rather do?(rut excluded)Just curious.
Personally if I feel like a longer than usual sit I'd rather do it in the afternoon. I feel better about seeing deer early on in an afternoon hunt than I do seeing deer late on a morning hunt. As time wears on in the morning it feels like I'm hunting bedded deer.

NY....
I've taken 5 bucks in the past....at these times:
6:20PM (DST)
5:20PM (St Time)
7:10AM (St. Time)
8:15AM (St. Time)
7:05AM (St. Time)
I've sat until 11:00AM a few times and have seen a buck as late as 10:15AM. I've gotten to stand as early as all-day.....up to 2:00PM (St. Time) and I just don't see the movement here in the middle of the day that others speak of, elsewhere. Maybe I wasn't in the right spots?
Starting Wednesday.....I'm gonna be out there pretty much throughout the day from now until I either score on a buck I want......or until 11/14. I'll le tyou know how it goes with sightings at differing times than what I've been accustomed to.

Where I hunt, I am more apt to see deer moving in the late morning than I do in the early afternoon. I've seen more deer where I hunt between 9 and 11 AM than I have between 2 and 4 PM for example.

The way I prefer to do it is to get to my morning stand at the last minute and maybe stay late. Also, I like toget to my evening stand early and leave early if I'm not seeing much. I don't want to be fumbling around in the dark and bumping deer.
