Last evening I shot at a nice buck ,thinking I made a great shot. He jumped in the air and kicked, ran about 50yds stopped for about 30 sec. then jumped away. Waited about half hour to check my arrow. Nothing on it but 1 hair. Went home and thought about what happened and the deers reaction. Decided to check it out this morning. I found my arrow deflected off a limb. Now my dilema is I found a patch of brown hair (no blood) where he was standing when I shot. So I went to where he stopped. There was blood puddleabout size of my hand. blood got less and less then faint drips. After 30yds nothing. Blood was about the color when you get cut yourself. Searched a large area around and nothing. Could I have just nicked him. Like I said earlier the arrow was clean except for 1 hair on broadhead.

I would say you sliced him either high or low... My guess would be high if it took a while to find the blood. If you do not have any slick fatty tissue on the arrow or you just had Absolutely NO blood on the arrow? I would say its just a flesh wound and you sliced the skin on the deer somewhere.
My guess is he will live just fine...
I dont know of any animal lasting 30 seconds with a pass through lung hit.
