Default I won a new gun!

While doing some yard work Saturday afternoon a very good friend of mine asked me to join him for a Ducks Unlimited event in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. The gun I won is a Marlin 30-06 XL7 with a scope. I have to go back and pick it up later in the week but I am torn. I live in Ohio and that gun is some what useless to me since we dont hunt with rifles, I can use the price of the gun for a store credit or sell it to someone? The problem is should I get a muzzleloader or a bow? I am in the market for a new bow but I would also like a muzzleloader. Let me know what you guys think about my problem and is that gun a quality gun, the rifle. I know this is the bowhunting section but I feel I have a kinship to this specific forum.

Isn't it more of a personal preference? If you truly don't need the rifle, get the in-store credit and use it towards what you need most....a bow or a muzzleloader. If you don't have a muzzleloader...and you obviously already have a bow...I would get the smoke-pole myself. IMO, it's better to have an old bow with a new gun......than a new bow....with no gun.

Do you have a separate muzzle loading season in Ohio? We do in Michigan and it lasts for 2 weeks after shotgun season so we can actually gun hunt for just over 4 weeks. If that's the same case in Ohio I would definitely buy a muzzle loader. Just my 2 cents.
