I am a big believer in breath control and have been since way before gumoflage came out, I used to chew spermint gum and go face mask with great results. I think that breath control along with a good scent control regimen can reduce your scent profile to near minscule levels. When i first began to practice this, i was amazed at how many deer got directly down wind of me and never knew i was there.

On a personal note:
A few years before Gumoflage came out I contacted a non hunting buddy of mine who worked for Wrigley at the time and proposed the Idea to him, I tried to twist his arm but he just didnt get it and YaYa'd me. Fast forward about 4 yrs and Gumoflage comes out....I forward him the link and say hey, look what I found for $5 a pack....

He kicked himself in the stones and i gave him a follow up one for good measure.

I couldn't stand the taste of the gum. I'm sure it helps but I couldn't get past the taste.
Ya the first couple flavors were pretty nasty, but its function not pleasure.

Now they came out with apple which is actually pretty good, you could chew it just because if you wanted to.

I have a scent control full face mask. Before each hunt I throw it in the dryer for 20 minutes and on the way to my hunt I lay it inside out across my defroster on high. I dip while Im hunting anyway so any gum or spray wont get rid of the wintergreen tobacco remnants in my mouth, but the full face sure helps keep the outgoing breath to a minumum going through the activated charcoal liner.

And.. while huntingson.. I do believe its commendable.. (spelling might be off on that one) your approach. Native americans did chew a "level" of gum that took away there own bad breath. Interesting.
There is nothing commendable about my approach. It is just my way of doing it.

They also did not have Oral-B, dental floss, and toothpaste so... I bet my breath smells better than the average native american's did 200 years ago. At least I hope so

I don't think breathing through your nose is a bypass for covering up your breath....
Huh?? Bad breath comes from the bacteria in your mouth, not your lungs! breathing through your nose by-passes your mouth, simple as that!

Gum-o-flage gets a bad rap in most hardcore deer hunting circles
Based on most these responses.. I'd say the author was pretty accurate.

I have been wanting to try some gum-o-flage, but I always forget to pick some up.

Not becasue I have stank breath, but I usually drink a cup of coffee before morning hunts and it is very noticable.
