It is my sons first year bowhunting and he is pulling back 45#. he shot a doe in the shoulder blade and the arrow stuck out of her and she ran off. whe never found a piece of the arrow and fallowed a blood trail for about 200 yards and it must halve clogged up and we never found her. and i also shot many deer in the front shoulder blade with great penetration but couldnt find them so i am wondering could a shot in the front shoulder blade kill one?

I think that a shot anywhere "can" kill a deer. It just depends what all you actually hit inside the deer and how much actual penetration he got. Was it a good blood trail for the 200 yards that you did follow it? Was it headed for water? Injured deer seem to head for water as they feel dehydrated from the wound. Good luck.

If you didn't get much of a penetration and the weather stays cool she may not get an infection and she well most likely live thats just my opinion.
