Default G5 Squaring tool

Hello all,

In making arrows, what is the importance of using a tool like the G5 squaring tool? Also, are there any other tools out there (a bit cheaper) that do the same thing? Thanks for any help

I havent seen any tools out there other than the G5. What it does is that it insures that after your arrow shaft is cut it is perfectly square, so as long as your insert and nock are sqaure it will fit without having any wobble when spin tested. The really nice thing about it is that you can sqaure the front of your inserts also. So when you get your fully assembled arrow with a broadhead and it wobbles when you spin test it, you can hit the insert with the ASD tool and it usualy takes care of it unless you have a bad head. If that is the case then there isnt much you can do. You can ask anyone on here, it is pretty hard to get consistant flight from a broadhead tipped arrow if it wobbles alot when you spin test it.

Everything passthru79 says is right on the money. I wouldn't make an arrow without squaring it up with this tool or something else. I don't know of any other tools that will do this. I suppose if you had a machine shop or were good at making homemade stuff you could make one but you would just need to be very sure about your tolerances.
