Got any billys scouted out, or going in blind? Good luck Saturday, Mtn Goats are a dream of mine, and I can only imagine the physical endurance needed for such a hunt. Best of luck.
I've been too busy dealing with these bears to scout goats so I'm pretty much just counting on the fact that they always are in certain spots when the weather gets like it is. (I'm going in blind on reports of a couple monsters from friends.) I better not have trick or treaters waking me up Friday night after I go to bed early. I may just pack in after work Friday and overnight up top.

Quite a bit of early season snow in the mountains, probably pushing some goats out into their warmer winter range already.

Day 2 for this stand and I blew a small bear out on the way in to the stand this evening. (Probably the same bear from last night.)

After being on stand for about 2 hours I hear the tell-tale sounds upstream telling me that there's a bear up there. Sure enough in about 20 minutes it's right under the stand. I actually had to think about shooting this one. It's way bigger than the one last night and a touch bigger than the one I've got on the wall but I fell back to the old adage that if you've got to think about it, it's not the one. It got to walk.

Think it got close enough?
Actually the good shots were at about 14 yards. The real close 7 yarder just didn't have the right angle, especially when you can see the bear thinking about how you might taste!

Unreal, this IMO is the best post that has been on this forum in a while. Best of luck to you on getting a monster.

If you dont mind sharing, is the location that your hunting a funnel or something similiar? Obviously alot of scouting went into finding the spot, but what made you pick that exact spot, its obviously a dandy.
