RE: hunting land price$$$$$$

i was reading about some land just to the east of me 40 acres half tillable farmed land half timber.
3500 a acre. you can find old mine land which has been untouched since they mined it for around 2000 a acre. but it might be all trees all weeds or thick thorns you just never know what they want to sell.

I paid $1500/acre 10yrs ago. Land now where I am is $5k per acre minimum, and more like $10k and up. It really is awful how bad the prices are....and the worst thing is its not prime land for hunting or farming. I could see someone askingthat much for prime property. The land next to us is for sale - 195 acres, he wants $1.9million - 20 miles from town, all woods, andon a gravel road.

I have a buddy with 80 acres for sale for $250k - rough country on a steep mountain near me. No timber to speak of either, mostly scrub and laurel. He'll get it. Crazy land has gotten like it has. Thank God I bought mine when I did. The next year or two should bring the prices down, doubt they will come down to where they should be though. I sure hope so, I'll buy more.
