How many of you strictly practice QDM on your hunting properties AND are any of you actual members of the QDMA?

Very few practice true qdm - even most of the members.

yea we dont pratice tru qdm but were starting to get closer.... adn yea our deer camp is insured by qdma so i guess were members

can't really pratice it on public land

Can you elaborate a bit?

I am a member of the QDMA. I started practicing QDM on our farm a few years ago and have found it is difficult to adhere to the four cornerstones that make upQDM if you owna smaller parcel of land. Our farm is 150 acres. On a parcel this size you can manage habitat to an extent and monitor your deer herd butthe other two cornerstones hunter management, and herd management is difficult because I cannot control what my neighbors are doing. The same deer I hunt are also hunted on the neighbors property.But in 3 years I have seen an unbelievable change in the amount of deer that come through our property and it is mostly do to having added different food sources. The quality of the bucks has also greatly improved.
Perfecting your QDM program takes lots of time and effort. It is somthing that cant be achieved over night. Most members will tell you that it takes several years to build a successful program.
Steve you are correnct to say that most members dont practice 100% true QDM but it is also true that most of the members try their best to improve the habitat where they hunt and the health and stability of the heard they are hunting which is alot more than what the average hunter does.
