Ran into the same exact problem last year that youre going through, all i can suggest is to hunt, and hunt hard. Find out where they are bedding or find a good water source.

Im wondering if anyone is running into the problems that we are having on our hunting property this year. We have 550 acreas and this year we have the bumper of bumper crop of acorns. White oaks, red oaks, and sawtooth oaks everywhere. The deer can eat from there beds and never have to move. Were not seeing the number of deer that we normally see, bucks or does. Any special tricks that anyone has got for hunting such a large mast crop?

Heck, our acorns are still in the tree and they don't want to fall. I can see literally 1000's of white oak acorns in 6 trees around my stand location and even 20 mph gust this past weekend wouldn't knock them out. Gun season opens Saturday and deer are still not eating acorns. I don't think that's happened for us as long as I've been hunting. It could be interesting.
