hunting in the rain-beanfields
Hunted yesterday afternoon, dealt with a downpour for over an hour as soon as the rain subsided I noticed movement behind me and had a lone doe come within 10 yards - decided to hold off and see if some horns would come through
Anyhow reason I am posting is as I was locking the gate on the lease, noticed two does in the beanfields, still slightly raining at this point . I have a 1/4 mile drive back to the paved road and as I crested the hill found the nursery --- 50-60 deer in the field all does and little ones
The beanfields are turning yellow so i assumed the deer would back off, will they still hit the yellow fields

I know they hit them again when they change to brown but never seem much activity till last night in yellow beans ... kinda odd but will investigate some more this weekend, didn't see any horns either though

They eat the leaves when they are green...After they turn brown, some beans pop out of the shell and they then go through and eat the beans laying on the ground...That's why it's important when running a combine to run the reel speed as slow as possible, to prevent bean shatter...

deer stay in my bean fields when theyre brown, yellow, green, blue, whatever.....long as theyre are leaves or goodies in the pods then theyll eat em. i love to be there the first evening after the beans are combined....preferably the same day.
