    congrats and way to keep after him. I hunted for 13 years before I got my first buck and he was no where that big.

    Congrats. That is a great first deer, first buck, and a great deer all around. Real nice mass on him. Way to stick with it and make sure you find him. A lot of guys would have given up sooner.

    Awesome job, man! Great deer...something to be proud of for a lifetime. Like an earlier poster stated, odd that he crossed the open field. Next time someone has difficulty with their recovery, I hope they think back to your story of persistance.
