What grunt call

As loud as you need it to be. I turned a good buck around that was 250 yards away. I don't know if you were here for that story back in 05.
I've used the same one for about 8 years. There is really nothing to go wrong with it.

Is the Deer Flute pretty durable and how loud does it usually get?

I have never heard of the Deer Flutecall before and definantly might have to give it a look.
I do use the grunt/snort wheeze that you talk about MAD call that you talk about in the link you posted. I agree that it's good for long range calling and the snort wheeze put my biggest Illinois buck on my wall 2 years ago.

I use the Tru Talker and am currently on my 2nd one. The reed fell out of the first one a few years back. I've had this second one for around 4 years now and it still works great.

I've heard a few deer grunting while posturing with other deer as well as when on the tail of a hot doe and have yet to hear two that sound the same.
I always carry a True talker and another onethat is small enough to keep in my mouth with bow in hand. I wish I could remember the name of the little one. Sounds great (at least to me) and lets you go hands free.
I also do a pretty good snort wheeze with my mouth alone but the only thing that ever seems interested is does' and yearlings and I have no idea why..
