Wow they're getting spunky already!
I was up late last night watching the Monday Night Football game and my wife was long in bed since she needed to get up at 5:30AM.
So not wanting to risk waking her up at such a late hour I slid over to the one spare bedroom with a magazine to sleep there for the night.
I have the window wide open listening to the night sounds behind the house around 1:30AM when i hear a "WHACKK!!!!" and one smaller clicking type noise.
I sat up.......What the heck was that? I couldn't tell exactly where it came from but since it didn't sound like it warranted a .357 inspection I went to sleep.
I get up this morning and look out back and my Morrell "Bionic Buck" 3D target is layed over and facing the house. [:-](He only has one stake in him up front so I can move him easier)
Some wiseguy buck took a shot at him!
That makes 3 years in a row one of my 3D targets has been smacked by a buck, but the other 2 have been in the 2nd week of November. Last year I came home from Illinois to find a McKenzie large Alert buck nose planted in the mud with his leg broken.
I think I might need to reevaluate this leaving home to hunt stuff.[:-]

Funny....Mine's been out for 3 seasons, now....and nobody's messed with him.
"course.....the term "I shall fear no evil" comes to mind. My 3D buck's a bad ass compared to what roaming my woods.

RE: Wow they're getting spunky already!
I have 3 buck targets out, 1 coyote and a turkey. The only thing that's bothered them thus far has been the bear that chewed the ass out of the one deer.
Course that other bear (blond bear video) was scared of the coyote target maybe that keeps the deer at bay as well.
We'll see this year as I have that big Glendale towards the woods more. (50 yard shot from my deck).

I didn't realize you were married........
I didn't realize you were married........
I just don't post her picture here for all the leghumpers to gawk at.......
The cool part about this encounter is that I have a Moultrie D40 in the edge of the woodlot on the only trail out to see if there is any activity back there, and I just put it out there YESTERDAY AM! So I might have the target smacker on camera. Been resisting the urge to go check all day.
I bet the poor Downy Woodpecker that built a nest in my target's neck was a little more startled by the encounter than I was.
