I got lost in the backcountry of Wyoming for about 3 hrs dusk into darkness.... No water or anything, I'll admit, after hour 2 I started to panic. Thankfully my group thought to come looking for me and I spotted a light.

I've missed a few giant bucks. two probably breaking the 150" mark. Both times it was on failed equipment.

I got lost in the river bottoms once, I had woundered into a big bend without knowing it. No matter which way I walked, I ran into the river. I built a fire and stayed the night. Found my way out the next day.

Ok...I know some of you may remember this from the last time it was asked......how about ripping your ring finger off while climbing down a tree. My wedding ring got caught on a step as I was jumping to the ground. I was setting up a tree stand, getting ready for opening day of bow. It was October 13, 1998, which would have been my first year of bow hunting.I spent a week in the hospital and missed the entire season bow and gun season. AlthoughI still have the finger, there is no feeling in it and it doesn't bend very well. My buddy followed MY blood trail to retrieve all thestuff I left in the woods!

My wife make chicken fingers with hot sauce every year on the anniversary......we can laugh about it now!

BTW...I never go into the woodsalone!

The worst I can think of is when I was about 15 and hadnt killed a deer yet. I was rifle hunting and just on the crest of a ridge I saw brown moving through the tree's, then a flash of white every now an again. Convinced it was a deer, I put my scope on it, and it was some idiot stalking around hunting wearing carharts and a white stocking hat. Probably the dumbest man on the planet right there. Good thing I wasnt trigger happy or my life (and his) would have been ruined.

Had some trespassers push the propertyI was hunting when they got close to my treeI asked them to please leave you are on posted property. They responded with a f** You. Instead of using my cell phone to call the warden I removed my safety strap to get down quicker with my climber.BIG MISTAKE!!I ended up with a broken neck, broken shoulder blade, fractured glenoid cavity and multiple breaks of my collar bone and a/c joint. I yelled for help they knew I fell but would not return to help me. I had to walk about 1/2 mile out broke phone in fall so I couldn't even use to call for help. It's been 3 yrs I still go up in my climbers but never w/ out my safety harness I truly had somebody watching out for me that day it could have been alot worse USE YOUR SAFETY GEAR!!!
