I think the man SHOULD sue the DNR because how dare they implement a law that is going to make Michigans economy worse. I mean, the economy is already downhill, do we really need something like this? I drive around and most of the farmers around my area have corn left, but it is not for us to eat, no,its for the deer. How are these farmers supposed to get rid of this corn and keep their livelyhood? So, I completely support the man who wants to sue the DNR and I encourage other farmers to do so, so maybe the DNR will pull their head out their A$$ and think about the rest of Michigan.

well than what do we do bout the deer herd than let it get destoryed

It is not going to wipe out the whole population. I know hunting is very important, but our economy is alittle bit more important. I mean, what are you gonna say when were all living in cardboard boxes "wow im sure glad we have deer!"

have you seen Michigans economy lately? the whole united states even? farmers are going to loose a lot of money this year because of this and that is not something we need right now. Did you see how the big three effected our economy? now that we dont have that anymore, we have farming. what else are we going to have to do to survive? just because it only directly efffects our farmers doesn't mean it its not going to make and impact on the rest of the economy.

While I feel bad for the farmers, they took a gamble and lost. It was decided in 2002 (and made well known) that there would be a baiting ban if CWD was found in Michigan. The farmers knew baiting could be made illegal immediately upon the discovery of CWD. They choose to continue growing deer bait crops. No one forced them to.

I understand that, but newlaws should adjust to the economy, not the economy adjust to new laws. What I'm trying to say is, is that this is not going to make the economy any better. Everyone thinks it's up to the president to save us, but it is up to the states as well. Sure, they took a gamble, but every business is a gamble. Maybe if MI was a little better off this wouldn't bug me so much, but right now is not the time to save some freakin deer.

To take it to the same extreme as people living in cardboard boxes.........what happens to MI's economy if baiting is allowed to continue and it contributes to the complete destruction of the deer herd?
What if there are no more deer to hunt period because deer hunting is shut down and those hunter dollars are lost completely?[:-]
