The Iceman and the Stud look ok but other then that, eh.. And why would you name a bow "Stud"? I know it goes with the Diamond theme but sounds sorta, well you know. I am not really excited by any of them this year which in a way is good news because I will not lust after any of them and be happy with my Black Ice for at least another year. :D

I can see what Bowtech is doing though. They are trying to differentiate and reach a broader market at the same time. Smart, but could be a gamble.

I think all of the new bows look nice, but nothing stands out enough for me to drop any $$ yet. Nobody has been able to come out with a silky smooth drawing bow with a plus 7" brace height in the 330-340 IBO range yet. The company that figures that one out will have a winner on their hands.

It seems right now that everyone has plateaued a bit with innovation. Bowtech is doing a great job of improving on an already great design, but nothing really "new." If you have a Guardian and don't have to get a new bow you're really not missing out on much.

That is, unless some of the features that Matt spoke of that aren't visible in the pic are really something else. But we will have to wait in anticipation for those details.

Im really hoping on......anything really. I am still shooting a bear that my brother gave me a year ago that his dad gave to him 9 years ago....It is lacking a little but gets the job done. But I am still a college student which means....Cheapest of the above please.

News bows look nice, but i wasnt impressed enough to buy a new. I agree that some of the names suck, i.e. Iceman and Stud., what were they thinking

I haven't read one single negative review on this bow since reading about it. The GT500 is just over 7 inch BH with a 346 ibo...but I heard it isnt nearly as smooth drawing as the z28.

But seriously, I'm disappointed in what I see. So far I notice three bows whose only difference is ATA length, one speedster, and the GLARING lack of the Equalizer or another bow geared towards the shortdraw archer.[&o]

I have to admit the Z28 is off my radar. I know the GT500 is smokin, but it is also not what I'd consider a "smooth" draw. It definitely had some stiffness in the draw.

If the Z28 is as advertised that is a pretty amazing bow. I don't want to hijack this though as it is a Bowtech thread.

I want to comment on something that I have seen fairly often here and over on AT with the new Bowtech/Diamond/Ross threads.

I think alot of folks have to understand that you cannot really please everyone, every year with the new bow designs. So far I have seen comments such as.....

" I wish they had a shorter draw length bow..."
" I wish they had a longer draw length bow...."
"I wish they didn't make any shorter than 34 inches from axle to axle..."
"I wish they made some really short bows...."
"I hope they improved the limb design...."
"I wish the "Blank bow" was about 10 fps faster with the same overall specs...."

All of the comments are then followed up with something like "...until they do I won't be spending money on them."

FWIW, I can see where you folks are coming from. I really can. I have a longer than average draw length and for years I have always asked for the flagship bows to be offered in draw lengths longer than 30 inches. So, whenfolks come out with some of the comments mentioned above I can sympathize with you. What I want to emphasize though is that the current models do have alot of new and innovative features. They aren't simply a rehash of previous years' designs. Bowtech constantly evaluates their models based on input from their dealers and from folks just like you. Case in point, I know one issue folks had with last year's General was the mass weight. Though I have not actually seen it in writing yet I would be willing to bet a fair amount that the General's "offspring" are noticeably lighter without sacrificing any of the excellent shooting characteristics that made the General so attractive.

Another issue that came up late in the year was the issue with the General's limbs. Once you folks hear what they are doing with the limbs on this year's bowsI will be willing to bet that you will rethink your stance on their limb design. I really do. I am sure Matt will share more as time allows.

I guess my point in typing all of this is simply to say thata companycannot please everyone. But I do sincerely believe that Bowtech tries to please as many people as they can while still not drifting away from their goal to provide cutting edge bow designs and solid customer service to back it up.

Keep that in mind when you post your thoughts. They are being heard and even if there isn't a bow in their current lineup that completely suits your needs then maybe there will be next year.

I think they look fantastic. It is refreshing having a company that is willing to change things up to be on the forefront of technological archery.I really dont know why people are hung up on companies that have been using the same technology for so long, or dont refresh things. When a companies single greatest achivement and claim to fame is really just a stolen innovation that darton pulled off 30 years ago, what are they going on.I guess if you give enough bows away, you are bound to win the most tournys, and if you spend enough on printing Glossy fancy fliers, you really dont have much to put into R&D. So I suppose for that slimming a bow down would be a huge accomplishment....I would rather have 0 hand shock personally. I really dont care what a bow looks like, if it is an amazing shooter, its an amazing shooter. And honestly, Of all the bows I have shot in the past year, Bowtech/diamond, martin, HCAand Parker strangly enough have had some of the sweetest shooting bows....maybe its cause they concentrate on archery, and not thier names.

Why isn't Bowtech backing up the dealers on repairing the limbs of the bows? This wasn't dealer error but it was a Bowtech error, Bowtech should be paying the dealers for there time on the bows. I know Hoyt had a minor cam problem back in early 2008, they paid the dealers $50 per repair. I know my friend a Bowtech dealer, told the Bowtech Rep for his area, that he will not repair Bowtech bows unless brought at his store. If you took your truck into the dealer for a recall, the dealer will be paid for labor by the maker of the truck, Bowtech needs to "STEP UP TO THE PLATE" and back up there dealers.

It isn't the specs or how I know they'll shoot, Matt.

I just don't happen to find the look very appealing.

I shot an Allegiance and currently shoot an 82nd, both bows performed awesome. The General is absolutely one of the smoothest shooting, suietest, and shock free bows I've had the pleasure of shooting.

I'm sure this year's line-up will surpass everyone's expectations. I'm not a fan of how they look.
