[align=left]where do you up a shot on this deer or do you know take the shot. let me put it in perspective. It is rut you know the deer does not live there he is just checking doe's and it is getting later in the night and he is just giving you a shot like this where do you put it...

i would not take the shot but if you had to last day of the season and still havent filled your tag. just any senario where you havent killed a deer or seen one you wanted to shoot anything at all. is that where you would place the shot?

I'd be eating my tag.

Not filling my tag is much better than takinga low percentage shot that may result in my wounding and not recovering an animal.

I think that you really need to wait him out. If he is walking toward you he should give you a broadside shot to the vitals. At this angle right know you have a very small spot to be able to stop this deer. No margin for any error...Just my 2 cents...

OK- So the deer is about to trip over a wire that was set by a terrorist and it will detonate a bomb at a school... where do you shoot?

I've seen Michael Waddel take this shot numerous time! I'm not saying to do it but if you are that good with your equipment I would aim about 6" above your dot and you should take out both lungs and exit behind the opposite shoulder.
