RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
It takes guts but I am sure you'll be fine. Good luck and remember I'm just down the road if you need anything.

RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
Jeff, good luck to you brother. I know you'll be fine. I started a new job back in June after a layoff of several months. I, unlike you, had to take the first thing that came along to pay the bills. I was in the construction industry as well...she's a fickle one. I'm very unhappy at this job and I wish I had the same optimism as you. Good luck man.

RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
Jeff, I know you will end up in a better situation. Sounds like you were a loyal employee who put in his time. Myself, I switched over to a new job 3 years ago and have been working my tail off to advance when the time is right. There is little upward mobility, so when the top blows off my place of employment here in the next 3 months when the superintendent leaves, I will be ready to jump. I am just hoping all the sacrifices I have made will pay off.

RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
Jeff,
Good luck in your new adventures, it will all work out for the best. I'm a firm beleiver in all things happen for a reason and if we knew the outcome it wouldn't be much of an adventure would it. Take care and good luck this season. Brian |
RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
Jeff, Sorry to hear that, I know how much you were expecting and looking forward to the new position. Been there done that, if ya wanna trade sob stories some day let me know [:o].
Unlike you, I took the competitors offer and that too was a great step forward. But like you (and probably most) I'm a dreamer too. Always looking for the next big thing! Most of us, who havescratched our way into upper managementare not going to the next plateau working for someone else. No matter the level of knowledge or dedication. There's just not enough of "those" positions to sustain us all. Sooner or later the glass ceiling gets us. It's either move on for more money, to some new location, or suck it up and stay where we are comfortable both in job and community. As a family man, sometimes community dictates! While I don't envy your position, I envy the world of possibilities now before you. The world is your oyster! Your intelligent and committed and you'll succeed because your programmed that way. In the meantime if I can be of any help emotionally, or otherwise. You got plenty of ways to get a hold of me. Just use one of them. Good luck Buddy! PS.. if your cell is changing let me know Sincerely, Bob |
RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
Best of luck to you Jeff. Look at it as an adventure and opportunity. One thing never changes (almost) friends and family. We are behind you all the way.

RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
GOODLUCK MR. GMATT. Things do happen for a reason, maybe it was just meant to be. Sometimes starting fresh somewhere else is always in the best interest of both parties. Im sure with so many years experiance as you have, and contacts that you have developed over the years you will be just fine.
Goodluck. |
RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
Jeff-I wish you and your family the best. Get out and chase the dream you have of working for yourself. As an owner of two small businesses I can tell you that it is scary to strike off on your own, but it is WORTH it! The satisfaction that comes with knowing all of your hard work is for you and no one else is priceless. The other plus is the freedom that comes with self employment. You will definitely work longer hours, but you will also have the ability to spend more time with your family and to hunt. I can't tell you how nice it has been to be able to attend various school activities and games that I never would have been at if I would have stayed at my old job.
You seen to have the right attitude and a strong work ethic, I think everything will work out for the best. |
RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
I gave you a phone call today and left u a message. I will teach you how to start a pest control business and the ins and outs of it. Very lucrative with very little capital. 10% chemical, 90% public relations.

RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
Jeff....HAVE FUN! You get to hunt like a mad man, go to mexico with the wife....so just have a good time. I wish good luck on getting some deer on the ground. You know it will all work out....i will send a prayer your way just to seal the deal.

RE: Personal info....delete if you must...
Sounds good.
IMO there are always room for hard workers in the workforce. It's the people that feel "entitled" that get to me. Seems like there are more and more of them. |
