ROb and Matt,
I don't really get caught up in the new bow hype every year and dont even glance at new bows on the shelf every year, but is this a bit much? This many new bows to be released in one year. Mathews and Hoyt don't release that many a year do they? Why is bowtech flooding the market with so many new models? Not a bowtech hater it just seems like a bit much to me. |
RE: New Bowtech's and Diamond's
Matt could answer this one better as he's been the man with Bowtech for so many years however, the Alley was in it's 3rd year last year, the Tribute, Equalizer, Constitution have had their runs. Bowtech continues it's push forward in innovation, creativity and no other way to say it but "pushing the envelope". I say Kudos.

RE: New Bowtech's and Diamond's
As was alluded to quite a few of the bows in the line up have had multi year runs........heck the Allegiance and Constitution were around for 4 yrs themselves. The Tomkat pretty much forever.[:-]
The bows have been replaced and it's time to move on with a new stable. The center Pivot bows of 2 yrs ago were so new and radical it was only natural that they would be refined to the point that you see today. Things needed to be improved upon and they were, hence the new models. Heck if you get right down to it the refinements each year on individual models could have warranted a name change on it's own given the degree of difference from one year to the next. The models that were eliminated all have new ones that will fill their specific niche within the line-up. It's a goal to offer as much variety as we can and still pay enough attention to each model to create the best possible bow in each category we can. Rather than put all of eggs into one basket or model the ability to give the buyer choices is one of the reasons Bowtech is where it is right now. If you are resting on your laurels and not trying new things eventually your place in the market is going to stagnate. We'd rather keep pushing things along and see where it goes. :) |
RE: New Bowtech's and Diamond's
on topic, it looks like they toned down the cam on the rock quitee a bit.

ORIGINAL: Finch ORIGINAL: my7pointmonster I'm a hoyt man, but those are some good looking bows. Ryan. The more I hear about the Admiral, the more I cannot wait to set this bow up and do a thorough review although I'd imagine seeing many. The Iceman will be next. I just had the pleasure to setup another Black Ice tonight. A buddy of Ben / PA came up with Ben and oddly enough, I knew this young man from about 7 years ago when I filmed him taking his very first gobbler. He recently bought the Black Ice from Cabelas I believe. He came with a bag full of goodies. We slapped on his Hostage Pro, sight, stabilizer, peep, I tied him some nock sets and a loop, tweaked the bow and we went out to shoot her in. She shot beautifully. I'm looking forward to really playing with this new line. |
RE: New Bowtech's and Diamond's
Some sweet looking bows. Sold my Guardian earlier this year to try out the Elite GTO. Haven't had a bow that has shot as consistent as my GTO in a long time. (at least for me). But still a Bowtech fan and waiting to try some of these new bows out. Am a little dissappointed thought the speeds aren't up a little higher. Was hoping to see airborne speeds in a shorter bow. Allows me to shoot a lighter poundage and still maintain some speed. My GTO is set at 56lbs w/28" draw and chrono'd at avg. of 306. Thinking about cranking on down to 50lbs and see what it will do. As far as the string surpressor being moved....my thought on it is maybe they moved it do to being an eyesight annoyance. What I mean is.....when everyone shot the new bow this year ....08's......the first comment they made was surpressor bothered them by being able to see it. Just a thought!! Matt...when will Bowtech release information on the new bows? Wish we could get a better local dealer around here.....usually go out of town to shoot new bows...because he doesn't carry very many at one time. Sucks!! Really not sure how he keeps his dealership.
