man you just gotta do it, you only get one body in life. i wish you the best of luck, start with a goal that is realistic, shoot for the mid 300s and go from there....

i am lucky had have good insurance so it does not cost me much to go.
I have a nieghboor down the block that goes to a local weight watchers group ORIGINAL: robinsok Hey man when i moved back from school a couple years ago i weighed myself and realized i had gotten big!! My fiance had asked me a bunch of times to go with her to Weight Watchers, and i always had too big of an ego or whatever to do it. Then i finally realized, what the hell do i have to be worried about. I had always thought it was for women and stuff like that, but I started, and really its just a good way to make you think about weight loss, find out easier ways to enjoy eating healthy, talk with other people who are doing the same thing, and more than anything their system helps make it easier to keep track of what your are eating and what you should be eating. No one knows what you weigh in there or how much you have lost, but when you have a big milestone, 10,20,30, 50, whatever, they will ask if its all right with you if they tell the group. It feels good to have some recognition. Another thing is, they have scales that will work for you, if you are spending money to go to the doctor, it might be cheaper to spend the 39 bucks a month to go there, and you weigh in once a week. When i started there, i was shocked to see that i weighed 371. In about six months, i dropped all the way down to 306. Now for a while i've been a dumbass and gained back about 20, but i'm in the progress of doing it again. I am getting married in june of next year and want to drop about 60 pounds or so before then. All i can say is it worked well for me. You might consider it. My doctor says for my height i need to get down to about 250 and he thinks i'll be healthy as can be, he doesn't see me needing to be below that unless i am unhappy at that point. Biggest thing is just stick with it man, i don't know of too many things more rewarding than weight being gone that you fought to lose. |

my goal is 400 by jan. then maybe 350 by summer then i will rethink everything and see what needs changed. i figure if i can hit 50 or even 275 by say june or july i will be doing good. That would be around 100 pounds in 10 months which is

Guys i just want to say thanks for all the encouragement. It makes me feel happy to know just what kind of stand up gay and gals are on here. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. One of my goals is to be down enough i can use a climber next season. If i hit 400 by jan i will reward my self with a scupe trip and get certifided. If i can hit my second goal of 350-375 by summer i will buy my self either a complete set of scuba gear or a nice climber for hunting season.
It has been my life long dream to scuba and i think that is a good thing to shoot for. |

Tim you can actually do better with four to five small meals a day insted of 3 moderate ones. Drink lots of water and get some exercise. Sounds like you have the heart to do this, and i got faith in ya ;)cut out the sweets and eat good nutricious meals. One of the best ways to keep weight off is to put on some muscle. Muscle will burn the calories for you. Good luck and keep after it :)
