Got that feeling again tonight.

When I have a deer at 15-20 yards and it is completely unaware that I am in its world. I just love that feeling and that makes the trip worth while right there. Just being able to observe them acting naturally and going about their own business. I feel like I learn something from every encounter I have like this. From knowing when I can and cannot move to seeing how the deer constantly is checking its surroundings for danger.
Just knowing I have entered their world without letting them know gives me a great sense of accomplishment. Wether I intend to shoot that particular deer or not. Sometimes I learn more by not killing a deer. And it might help me pick the right time to draw on the next monster that presents a shot. Now that truely would be the best feeling in the world.
I hope to get that feeling quite often this season.

I feel the exact same way. i love watching deer just go about there lives unaware that the apex predator is watching over them. The only thing that i dont like are the squirrels those things have ane entire forest to go running around in and they choose to be within 50 yards of me i just want to shoot one but i know as soon as i do the flood gates will open and deer will be every where and i wont be ready.

I love it too andhave done the same thing. It is so cool to watch them get closer and closer. It helped meget over buck fever was to let a few small ones wonder around me and see what I can do in my stand. As they are approaching, I'll stand up or make a noise to see if they catch me. Make sure there aren't any other deer around before you try it.

That feeling keeps me in the tree more than anything else in the woods....It is a great experience, I have been doing this for many moons and that is why I keep doing it!!!! Very well said jm..
