get your head up Rory, happens to the best of us. I had the same thing happen last year, the arrow sounded funny when it hit the shoulder of a pretty nice 8 point. Well I found the arrow and it had not penetrated very far. I looked for six hours that nite, walking circle with hand held spotlights. Looked again in the morning and found my deer all torn to pieces, coyotes had run it down.... The broken piece of arrow was there on the ground, and pretty much just fur... Really made me mad for a while.... eventually you just gotta get back out there, so good luck in the morning!

I'm sorry Rory...You surely hit something solid....These things happen..I wouldn't question your ability..you get out there and do what you do best....We all know you know how to close the deal....What you experienced is a situtation that all hunters run into. Sometimes your broadhead is an inch from lung or an inch from a dead spot....Keep your head up buddy.

I have made that hit before and that animal is very sore but very alive, go practice and get that monkey off your back. I know that there is no other feeling worse than that bud, really tears up your thoughts for a while.
