well i know for a fact that the tinks 69 doe in heat and the h.s. earth scent wafers work. i'm sure theres more that do also. try the fall blend scent eliminater. wash all your clothes in h.s. scent free laundry detergent and store all your clothes in an air tight container with scent wafers in there. and you will start seeing alot more deer. you won't think so much about the attractant scents anymore, because you will be seeing alot more deer. but definately use the tink's 69 during the pre rut, rut, and post rut, it works for me. oh yeah!, also shower with bacteria killing scent free soap. never wear your hunting clothes anywhere other than in the woods. try not to touch any unnecessay vegetation, recommend wearing lacrosse 18 inch burly's. if your hunt near a pasture try to step on the cow pies. wear rubber gloves when you climb your tree steps to your stand and also when you put out that tink's 69. buy a doe decoy and put some on her rear end, it worked for me. sorry about all this info, i kinda got carried away!

I tried several sents quite a few years ago with negative results, now I use only sent-a-way sprays and clean cloths.I will whip my boots with dogfennels when I get out of the truck.I also step on the cow piles when I hunt the club with the cows.
now I see a lot more deer and take several every year.
the trick is to be as sent free as you can, that includes not useing anything unatural in my area.
thats my 2 cents worth, there are 98 more.
I am not a hunter I am a whitetail population reduction specialest
remember keep your back to the sun, your knife sharp, and your powder dry.

Everybody, thanks for so many replies, I will take them all into consideration. I think the most important thing everybody agrees on is to be scent-free. You've all given me good ideas to do that.

Beretta390, Not too much info! Can't get enough! The more the better! I think I may give the tinks 69 doe in heat a try next season. Just saw alot of action around the rut and like others have stated, I didn't want to scare deer away with any "unatural" scents. Hope it works for me as well as it did you.

If your going to use a scent, I've found that "Buck Stop 200 Proof" is about the best there is. I had a number of deer come in on the trail I left with my drag rag, one really nice 10 pointer. Wasn't able to get into position though, snuck up from behind, followed the scent trail right in. Other scents seem to spook the deer. "Buck Stop" didn't. Bought another product this year after season. "Hawgs Pre/Post Rut" is what was on the label. Anyone heard or used this product?

Bowhuntr80, What is "buckstop" is that another "doe in heat" scent? It sounds like you have had some good results with this. I will definately experiment with this too. Sorry, I don't know much about scents at all, and I have not heard of "Hawgs pre/post rut"

I have used Tink's 69, it works really good on does. I have used Pete Rickards Indian Buck Lure, it brought a small buck in that rubbed RIGHT beside it. I used Tinks Dominant Buck Lure, NEVER AGAIN, it scared EVERY deer I saw away. I made fake scrapes and put Tinks 69 around them. The only thing that sorta worked was putting a TINY bit of Tinks Dominant Buck Lure in with Tinks 69.
Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)

I too have tried the scents and there were many greats points given here. One being that only fresh scents are "natural" or luring to a rutting deer. I've used the Tinks69, can't say it worked or not.
The one scent that did yield some results was from S&P. This stuff is collected then frozen. It's shipped frozen and the retailer is to keep it frozen. I used this stuff and I had Bucks fighting to make scapes. All around my stand! Just my 2 "scents" too.

Buckmagnet, Thanks for warning on dominant buck lure. This is an important piece of info for me. The last thing I want is to ward off all deer. Tinks 69 has come up over and over. Seems like a safe bet.
