We've had TONS of luck with it during the rut. Just blind calling with it. Mixed in a sequence of grunts and rattles it can be deadly.
Good luck.

I have had success with it, but never blind calling. If I see a deer or hear a buck grunting, I've had success bringing them in!

Do you use the can at any portion of the season or mustly close to the rut?

I've had luck with it with two smaller bucks and a herd of cows. I called two bucks 300 yards across the field directly to my stand. Both were young bucks. I've also had about 30 head of cattle come to my stand mooing their asses off and searching for this imaginary baby cow. In Field and Stream this past month, a whitetail 'expert' said in his 30 plus years of hunting he has never heard an estrous bleat. What he believes is the reason this call can be successful is because a buck is mistaking the estrous bleat for a fawn bleat. The buck might believe that if the fawn is bleating then the mother might be around too.

I must have a defective can (more like user error), I tried it once and I never saw a deer move so fast to the next county. It actually made me laugh out loud. Needless to say, that was the last time I used it. Considering the positive posts above, I may have to try it again.

I hit it 2-4 times in a row every 20 or 30min.....alone or with some 'tending' grunts....had a spike come in....couple curious does....and a 6 or 8 (it was too thick) come looking for me

I called this old, matriarch doe into me with The Can.

If anybody knows, these old does are just as hard to kill as a buck.

I use it a lot, on three occasions I have used it and have deer come in. Countless times tho, after seeing a deer, I was able to get them in closer. In the last two years I have got an 8 point and a big doe, just after using it. I love it!

never any luck cold calling but don't use it real frequent as some do so that may be the problem.
last fall in WI turned a small buck. was pretty darn impressive the fast reaction of the buck to the call
also tried it on bigger buck last year with no response other than short look.....but he was following a doe so i did not really expect he would leave her.
