Default Draw Length

Ok, here it goes. Imay take some heat on this one too because it seems like it should be a simple answer.

So when someone has a draw length of lets say 29" how long should their arrows actually be. Draw length goes from the rest to the anchor point right? So for a 29" draw length, do most people use 30" arrows? My thinking for this is so you have a little overhang from the rest to the tip of your arrow. That way when you have your broadheads on, you wouldn't run the risk of cutting your hand.

Sorry for the simple question, just got me thinking...

Actually draw length is measured from the bow at full draw, from the throat of the nock to the deepest part of the grip + 1 3/4". It has nothing to do with the location of the rest whatsoever.

That being said I use arrows about the same length as my draw length, not because I'm afraid of cutting my hand, but because they just happen to spine right for my setup. But then I have never been uncomfortable drawing a short arrow so long as it does not draw past the rest. I keep my draw length to my optimized length and the bow weight to where I can control it.

I cut my arrows at full draw 3/4 of an inch past the rest . have someone mark it while you pull back then let off and measure the arrow
