My goal is to set up in a little patch of woods I’ve never bow hunted yet & try to whack a doe. The sign in there is ridiculous & I found some good climber trees.
Depending on the wind, for my evening sit I’m going right up in to a good area and try to catch a nice buck staging or hitting acorns right before dark. I normally don’t hunt this spot until later, but I don’t want to be quite as passive this fall.

I'm not getting too serious day one--always takes me some time to get my set-up perfect. I really want to enjoy the woods and atmosphere that day. I can't wait!

LOL.....Go sit wherever my guide tells me to.
Hunting an outfitter opening day (tomorrow). Then I'll be back here on Monday to hunt some local woodlots. I spotted two bucks, this morning, going back to bed....that I'd never seen before. One is possibly a shooter.....and they BOTH are if I have the longbow in hand.
Do some in-season scouting, bow in hand, Mon, Tues, Wed evening. Rob and Matt arrive, Thursday. Should be a blast.

My plan is to get to my creek crossing stand early. There is a tall 8 point that is a good buck that I have some pictures of in that area in the morning. If he doesn't show I'll still sit that stand the majority of the day. Not because it's the best stand I have, but I know that all of the other hunters will be out and my other stands are near where they will be. The creek crossing stand is in a funnel leading off the property and nobody hunts that area but me. Hopefully when they get antsy they'll push some deer aroundand when they go to leave they'll come by me.
