Sob story, plea for help.
 

I was recently fired after nearly 10 years ofworking faithfully as a water guy for the city I live in. I had been putting money aside to buy my boy a nice new bow,but most of that money has been used for other needed items (school supplies etc..).
This kid works his butt off to get good grades, and is doing very well in his first year playing football, and he really deserves to be able to spend some time shooting targets with his 'ol Dad.
I guess what I'm asking is; do any of you have a youth or ladies bow you could sell me for a really fair price?
He needs about a 25" draw and at least 40lb. He won't mind what brand it is, how old it is, or even what color it is- he's a good guy and doesn't ask for much.

Where are you at in Illinois. I have an all carbon High Country Max Extreme. It has a one pin sight, QAD Ultra drop away rest and a brand new Winner's choice string (no arrows shot from the new string). The bow's DL is adjustable from 25"-31". It is currently set at 29" DL, 70# DW and is spitting a GT out around 280fps. I run around all over Central Illinois, we could plan a time for your boy to get it.

Wow, that's alotta bow!! What's the minimum poundage? I'm in Tuscola, but I'm not terribly busy these days, I can meet you anywhere. Can I afford it?

The min poundage is 50. All I would ask for is pay for the string and the rest and I am only asking for that because they were just put on last night. Sound fair?

need some broadheads? Ive got some brandnew Muzzy 100gr 3 blades that I havent used. Theyre assembled, and shot into a target a couple of times. Still sharp though. Let me know.

I also have some Gold Tip 5575 Expedition Hunters arrows with regular vains on them if interested, I think I have 7 or 8 of them. I am located in Urbana, 35 minutes from Tuscola. Let me know.

Eric, Lyondell Industries there in Tuscola is or will be hiring Operation and Maintenance personel, I have a connection there.

Ok, so the kid has a bow, arrows, quiver, and some Muzzys....anyone with a old release or safety belt lying around? Step up, it will make your heart feel good to do this.

Wish I had something to contribute, but looks like you guys have it all covered. This brings up an amazing idea. Why not do this for someone for Christmans. I am sure there is some kid, somewhere who would love to bow hunt, but who's mother and father cannot afford one. I mean we could find the kid, all chip in this or that and with all of us surely we could make a kids Christmas awesome. What ya think?

If it will help get him in the woods I have an old hang on style treestand I am willing to part with for the price of a smile on a young hunters face. It is in good safe condition it might need a new foam seat. I live in Columbus Ohio. PM me if you plan on being in the central Ohio area any time soon and we can arrange a pick up.

I have a youth release as well.........Im 6'2 300lbs and used to use this release as a back up. It's practically new too. PM me your addressand I will stick it in with the Muzzy's.

This thread brought a tear to my eyes. It goes to show what caring and generous people there are on here, not just as people, or hunters, but true sportsman. Most of us here have made this kid the happiest kid in the world. Even though I was not involved in this, I want to extend a great big thank you to all that were and still are. you are alltrue sportsman. pat yourselves on the back for a job well done. Its a really good idea. As of right now, I don't have anything to spare. I have a 15 year old that is archery hunting and a 11 year old that will start shooting soon. After this season, I will be getting my oldest son a bigger bow and passing his stuff to my youngest. What we should do is start a thread with stuff that people are willing to part with and another with people that know of a family in need for the situation above.
