RE: anyone hunt with an arm guard on?
ORIGINAL: ABarOfSoap ORIGINAL: cooter144 I watched the same show. His shot sailed about 1-2 feet over the back of the deer. Does string slapping the arm cause an arrow to fly that much off course? I myself have never needed an arm guard but some people do depending on your form. |
RE: anyone hunt with an arm guard on?
Yes I do to hold my jacket sleeve in.

RE: anyone hunt with an arm guard on?
Only with my longbow or recurve. Back in the day I just took a black sock and put it on my bow are forearm to hold in a bulky jacket.
Now I don’t use anything, I get no slap with an STS and good form. |
RE: anyone hunt with an arm guard on?
I don't use one when practicing, but always while hunting.

RE: anyone hunt with an arm guard on?
Yep when pre-season practicing and when i gat anything other than a t-shirt on . String slap hurts and my saunders definately helps .

RE: anyone hunt with an arm guard on?
I do if I am wearing a heavy jacket, but only to keep the clothing held down. Honestly I have never had the string hitting my clothes throw a shot off though, it just makes a lot of noise is all. Normally if you missed you probably would have missed anyway.

RE: anyone hunt with an arm guard on?
Just think, any obstruction to the string going forward is going to throw a shot off in some way.
