Blue, You're better off just saying the guy never took care of his equipment, shot toothpicksand he deserved what happened to him, unfortunately it'll be easier that way. :(

imean, the bow is pretty old, and who knows what it actually has went through over the years.

a 3-4 year old bow is "old", I would think for $700 a guy should get a few more years out of a bow (if its taken care of properly), Alll bow will have difficulties at times...i agree, but this isn't the 1st time we have all heard of this happening with BT

What arrow did he shoot? I suspect in this age of lighter arrows we are going to be seeing more of this, I really think Bowtech is a victim of their own success here. They make a fast bow, so I suspect guys are pushing the limit on weight of the arrow. After a bit of time shooting this is what we get, and yes I called it in 2005:D I posted somewhere on wait until these preloaded limbs get 3 0r 4 years on them shooting a light arrow.

BOOM

No he didnt even shoot the arrow you guys he was DRAWING BACK when it happened his release was still clipped even after this all happeend so it has nothing to do with the arrow and either way the arrow was rated for the bow what do you guys think bowtech or the dealer will do he has a lifetime warrenty but would it be covered? he is the only owner and he is the type of guys who aint rich but got a nice bow when i came out and has kept very very very good care hasnt been dropped or dryfired in the 3 years he has had it i dunno just strikes me as weird hope he gets a new bow out of it or atleats they fix his season is 3 weeks away the bow has only about 500 shots threw it

matt

I was asking what arrow he has been shooting the last 3 years with the bow?

I am wondering what the weight of his arrow setup is, this might give us a clue as to why it happen.

Do you know what arrow he was shooting and the length?

It happens to ALL bow companies (except hoyt:D;))...the limbs fail on bows seemingly at random. Most of the time the shooter is blamed[:-].

You guys want to see something ridiculous, look into the Browning Barracuda Bowfishing Bow....talk about a ticking time bomb....those limbs seemingly fail more often than not. Im talking huge numbers of failures, and Browning still denies literally EVERYTHING. Sure they ship out a new set of limbs the next day but this is a bad deal waiting to happen. I know of one guy who has 3 cudas, has for2 years now.He has went through8sets of limbs that exploded. This is a serious situation that Browning/PSE wont own up to or even look into for that matter. In one case, a guy got a reply email for browning that WATER may have delaminated the limbs on a bow marketed for bowfishing. ridiculous.

Sound to me he should think about switching before something bad happens....

wow! but all in all, every bow on the market or one that someone owns, can and will fail eventually! i mean, the bow is pretty old (DAVE IT'S A 2005!!!!), and who knows what it actually has went through over the years. was he the only owner of the bow? was he the only one that shot it? there are lots of variables to consider when something gors wrong with a bow.
just luckily no one was hurt.
hope all goes better!!!
Dave,
So you find it "acceptable" for a 3 yr old bow to blow up???? Must be a BOWTECH mentality that comes with the admission into the "cult." Sorry, and I know and like a lot of you BT guys, but this stuff is just not what I'd consider acceptable. This may be why I'm shooting Hoyt and Reflex line bows, which may not draw quite as smoothly, and may not be quite as fast, but with welll over 20,000 shots on 2 of my bows, and probably 30,000 + on a bow I sold last fall, I must expect MORE out of my bows. My old bow that I sold last fall was a 2000 Reflex Bighorn, it had LOTS of shots, never failed me, only went through 2 sets of strings, it's been dropped from trees, and used and abused, and it's still shooting great today, in a newer bowhunters hands.[:-] WHOA, and 8 actually real close to 9 year old bow and someone still shoot it????? A lot of the members on this forum are probably shooting bows that are 2005 and older, and they're NOT OLD, they may not have the newest, latest, and greatest technology, but they are still good shooting bows that get the job done. For the record, my #3 bow is a 1999 Hoyt that I've put a couple thousand shots on myself since getting it back in Feb., and I've logged a RH with it, and it shoots nearly as well as my #1 (Trykon XL) and #2 (Reflex Highlander) and I don't have ANY FEAR shooting any of them quite regularly, and shooting them a LOT!!!! Hell, at 63#, that Old Stryker II zips those 420gr arrows out there in the mid 260's!!!!
