Check all that apply.

1. Had a bad experience with one years ago?
2. Had a bad experience with one, recently (name please....and describe the experience)
3. I hate moving parts, but haven't tried expandables
4. I hate moving parts and have tried expandables (when?)
5. A "buddy" had a bad experience (when?)
6. I sell more fixed blades than expandables.
7. No reason to fix what isn't broken. I've never shot expandables but love the results of my fixed blades.
8. My bow/setup doesn't push enough KE to shoot them.
9. No reason.....just like to hate.
10. My mom won't buy me BH's....and fixed blades are less expensive.
11. Too expensive.
12. I "heard" they are not dependable (refer to no's 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11)

I have to say I have never shot them, but I plan on at least shooting one deer this yr with a Rage. This will determine wether or not they are something I like.

I am. .....................

I think mechanicals have led to shots that in my opinion should not be taken. I understand in the western state longer shots are a necessity because of open terrain . But in the whitetail woods most of us hunt I see no need to take long shoots that lead to poor hits ,long blood trails & lost deer, leading to some real heated post here the next day.
Bow hunting is a close and personal sport ,if you don't have the ability to get close to your target, maybe its just not for you.
It seems like the one common denominator to poor hits is directly related to the distance the shot was taken.
I find it damn near impossible to make a bad 12 yard shot, I'm sure some of you are capable of it,but to me inside of twenty I'm golden.
Good words, in my little mind anyway. Nothing against mechanicals, nothing against those that make them their choise. I do believe, no actually I KNOW, it gives SOME a false sense security on longer shots. Inside of thirty yards, no advantage what so ever for me shooting mchanicals. And thirty yards is my limit.

Not my cup of tea. Someone asked me about them the other day and I recommended the Rage BH's. I guess that makes me number 7. I am also number 13.

13. Expandables do not look as cool on the end of my arrow as a big ol' Muzzy Phantom .

Let me start by saying I have no opinion on what, whoever shoots. I think we all know an arrow placed in the right spot will do the job with just about any head on the market. I do have a question for you guys though, how does the broadhead affect the distance an arrow will fly? The only reason I ask is I don't understand the logic. The broadhead has nothing to do with the distance that an arrow can be shot effectively (that in my mind is all on the shooter).....So, what's your logic for this???

They're trying to imply that people who shoot mechanical BH's somehow overestimate their abilities, because they have a false sense of security in their BH choice.

It's total horse ****.....but let 'em have their fun.

If they stick to the numbers (see thread header for choices)....it becomes REALLY clearthat most people have either an unfoundedphobia or an uneducated bias against mechanicals.

I know, I was just trying to get them to post a logical reasoning...That is still the falt of the shooter and not the BH...

According to this fail proof theory...I'm trying to compensate by using mechanical broadheads because I can't shoot. [&:]

That's certifiably insane.

I'd be glad to shoot against ANYONE who believes this.

I've got Slick Tricks, and Rages, but I will continue to shoot Rages because of the impressive damage. My setup produces PLENTY of energy to use them.
