Regulation Question
#1
So I have already purchased my Rage 2 blade broadheads, and I am ready to shoot them this fall. However, I was looking through the regulations for my state this afternoon, and I read that you cannot use broadheads with a cutting diameter any larger than 1 7/8 inches. I was a dumbfounded. I can kind of understand that there should be a regulation on cutting diameter, but to leave the Rage 2 Blades out of that makes me wonder. So does anyone else have this same regulation or is South Dakota the only one??

probably an older law....bigger cut=more power needed to get through....have to draw a line somewhere before someone comes out with a 16" "head chopper offer" ...
even today, it takes a goooood bit of energy to get a 2" cutting head to get good penetration...
highly doubt they made that regulation just to exclude the rage 2 blade heads...

I have never heard of a law like that but it is what it is. Choose another broadhead.
Who cares if game warden Joe would let you slide. Game warden Bobmight check you andgive you a ticket. Opinions do not matter one bit. The written law does.
I wonder if this would be enforced? I would call my local warden and get his opinion. Some give a little more leeway than others.

Yep, I agree.... very silly.
But..... they are still printing it in the regs for a reasonso you gotta play their game if you're gonna play.
It is probably an attempt to keep people shooting lower poundage set ups from needlessly wounding deer with huge cutting mechanicals.
