Is a DEER that NO ONE "owns" THAT important? I mean.....SO important as to have a man stoop to crimminal tactics and jeopardize his hunting future AND have him risk prosecution and the stigma that comes with said?

I owe it to myself AND my family to never stoop to such. But that's just me. NO DEER is worth me taking those risks.

Its JUST a deer.

I give! I give! Think everbody has more than proven their point.Should he lose everything he owns? Hardly think so, should a lesson be learned, definitely. Can assure everyone that this was only a momentary lapse of reason and does not happen on a regular basis. Man, I hate to think what would happen if you guys find a spotlighter on here. Do they deserve to get set on fire?

What's wrong with spotlighting? It's a legal past time in PA. Spotlighting and poaching isn't the same thing! I'm a spotlighter so waht are you saying?

I think he was talking about when you spotlight and then shoot it.

I think your friend should have let the first 2 guys know they were being watched and if they poached any animal then they would be turned in. What your friend did was flat out wrong and just as illegal bottom line.[:@]

I am saying you better be glad it is legal or you should be set on fire!Nothing wrong with spotlighting at all unless you pull the trigger while it is on.

Sounds to me that for some reason your friend felt he had more right to that deer than anyone else and that his belief was so strong he believed it was ok for him to poach the deer rather than for someone else to do the same thing...law breaking is law breaking in my opinion regardless of whether or not you're a "known poacher" or a poacher who is yet to be found out
