What about neck shots? Just kidding, I couldn't resist. Great thread, very useful as a refresher after not hunting for 10 months. I like the magazine idea as well.

without reading all the posts, #5 seems high to me as well
Did you read the caveat for No. 5, PT? Premise is you're 20' up, looking down. I will agree that the angle shown makes you look about 12' up.
Here be where I be aimin' :) ... BLUE DOT

No problem, PT.....I just felt like the angle shown was from lower than I called out (20'). From the angle shown.....I like you height.....but I'd aim right of where your blue dot is.

Dead deer.;)

Look at that headgear! I hope I get that shot, this year!:D

Nothing in my way????

I'll take it. Buck. doe or fawn. I had 3 exit holes out the brisket in '07, I believe.....and all shots were taken within 15yds. MY BH is gonna potentially cut a 6" swath on the way IN.

From 23' up that angle becomes more acceptable.

hey!! i took that last photo!!!:D

good stuff guys...

only one i disagree with is #5...FROM that exact photo angle...id probably "adjust" some (i like to aim lower in general) but all those shots would result in dead deer not very far away...

buddy actually TOOK that EXACT shot(as presented in #5)...12-15ft up...10yds or so(cant remember) entered in the last ribs and blew out the brisket infront of the far leg....i was shocked...i didnt think id take that shot.....but, im shooting ALOT more KE than he is and a good 100gr heavier arrows...he had a complete pass through and dead deer within 30yds...

I may reconsider if I get the chance ... but it'll have to be the only opportunity ...... MAN I can't wait to get out there!!!

Yeah but they will lose 10 pounds in the heat! In a way, I'm glad VA's season doesn't start until October 4th. It is still warm but it is a tad cooler.:)
