Default East Texas land was a bust.

I finally got a chance to take a look at the hunt club in E. Texas I was invited to join. I was told there is 2000 acres with 8 members. There is 2000 acres but its 18 members. I was told I misheard the Mgr. Thats possible I guess. I was told there were 200 acres that were clearcut. Looks more like about 1/2 the property. Still not a deal breaker at $600 a year. I was told guests are allowed and that is true. 1 guest per FAMILY MEMBER. I was not told by paying for a spot my whole family and their guestscould hunt so its 18 families on 2000 acres 1/2 of which has been clearcut. I found out Saturday that a few of the "families" have up to 8 members with 4-5 being average. I didn't bother getting my checkbook out. Thank God I've got the west Texas place to hunt!

North of Abilene in a place called Nugent. My wifes boss owns the place so its a freebie for me. I'm going to just concentrate on that this year and look for another place next year. I don't know how much my property taxes are going to be in January so I'm just going to hold that cash for now.

Greg.

Now I know why it sounded to good to be true

It would work out about an acre or 2 for you to hunt.

If your luck is like mine you would be smack bang in the middle of the clear cut
