I agree Andy, that's being prepared and I have to be honest, more prepared than I but this thread has me thinking.

I like that alot not just for you but for helping out buddies and all!If I put one together I will have it in a back pack instead of a box. I would also include a drag rope, extra knife, and twist ties for taging, rubber gloves, and small hand saw.

I to have a tracking kit. In it I have chem-lights which work well at night. No batteries to leave you in the dark . I keep it at last blood. They don't take up any room at all. You can get them anywhere stuff for camping is sold. Give it a try!!

Nice kit there Jeff.........I might just have to put one of those together myself. I have a bunch of lights but they always seem to get scattered all over the place.

and BATTERIES!![:-] Man you can never have enough batteries for the little handheld jobs. We were tracking a doe Greg shot in Illinois last year and his batteries literally died in a minute of using his light and all we had was mine on a tough to follow blood trail.
What a PITA with 2 guys and only one light.........and won't happen again.

I think after seeing this we might just make it a point to put together a full blown "Kit" especially since out there many times we're hunting 50-60 miles from Greg's house.

Good thought GMMAT.This is the extent of my kit (eyes not shown), I keep it simple.I use these cloth stripsinstead of TPin case rain becomes an issue while on the trail. I remove them after I find my deer so nobody knows where I was hunting.
