Apparently mother deer never taught those two to play nice. Thats awesome!!! A fully body mount of the two would be amazing with the story to go with it.

I know id do the same thing if I had the chance, but how would you register that in WI? would it be one buck since they are locked? Or would the DNR have to make that call???

I imagine alot of it would be a DNR judgement call. If it happened around here, I am betting they would let them keep both of them, but I don't know the actual law for this situation.

That is insane....good thing he was able to put the deer down before he suffered through the same fate as the 10pt.

I contacted one of the EnCon officers I work with on occassion. He tells me that if that happened here in NY that you would just need to contact an ECO. He/she would inspect the bucks to determine the validity of the claim and then issue a deer carcass tag if everything is legitimate.

Personally I think the living buck would have died in time. I can't say that I have seen anyone find a set of horns shed that were attached to a dead deer skull. I have seen skulls found that were locked together a whole lot more frequently. IMOH

Ya I think he would have been able to keep both and I would have mounted them locked up like that.. I'm sure someone will be willing to pay big money for them locked up and mounted, i would not sell though..

Unless they were closer to shedding their antlers I think he may have died from it, he's dragging around another good sized deer. But I'm sure weather, terrain and hunting pressure would have had a lot to do with him surviving but my bet is him dying...
